Skating School
Based on the guidelines of the Ice Skating Institute, Bakersfield Ice Sports Center offers beginning through advanced figure skating and hockey classes. Whether you are an experienced skater or have never stepped foot on the ice, the Ice Sports Center has a class tailored to fit your needs. All classes are taught by highly qualified instructors with many years of ice skating experience.
For children and adults wishing to play ice hockey, the Ice Sports Center Skating School Program has been specifically designed to get you up and skating in either our Youth In-House hockey program or our Adult Hockey League

California Dreamin’ Hockey School

The California Dreamin’ Hockey School was formed by Iceoplex during the summer of 2002, with 300 attendees. During its first year, the school was held in Simi Valley, CA, Fremont, CA, and Fredericksburg, VA. With the success of those schools we are expanding it to our other facilities.

Our biggest draw is our coaching staff, which is comprised of all ex-professional players or coaches who work year round for Iceoplex. During the three weeks of school, all of our staff were either on the ice, or off-ice working closely with our young players, something that other hockey schools only promise.

• CLASSES MEET ONCE A WEEK FOR THREE MONTHS - 30 minutes sessions.

$180.00 First time registration ($13.00 I.S.I. registration fee not included)

$ 165.00 EARLY BIRD RE-ENROLLEMNT SPECIAL. After January 5th, price is $180.00.

CLASS STANDARDS

• 12 STUDENTS PER INSTRUCTOR

• NATIONAL REGISTRATION - $13.00 per year. All students must register with the Ice Skating Institute.

• 12 FREE PUBLIC SKATING SESSIONS for the student during the skating school semester.

• MISSED CLASSES CAN BE MADE UP DURING THE CURRENT SEMESTER. HOWEVER, NO MAKE-UP IS OFFERED FOR STUDENTS TAKING SPECIALTY CLASSES THAT ARE OFFERED ONCE WEEKLY.

PROGRESS REPORTS are issued at the end of the first month of classes, to evaluate each students progress.

• CERTIFICATES are presented to each student at the end of the semester.

• RIBBON AND BADGE TESTING - Optional Ice Skating Institute testing is offered at the end of each semester for a nominal fee. Each student who passes a test will receive an official I.S.I. ribbon or badge and the test will be registered with the national office.
